City areas
For a memorable 90-minute walk, start directly north of boulevard Edouard-VII, where a path leads up the Riviera escarpment to Sentier du Plateau St-Michel. As you walk, you’ll see some of the region’s most elegant mansions, set within manicured gardens overlooking the blue sea and the curving shoreline of the French Riviera.
Little Africa Beach
If you travel to the north of the town, past the main port and out along the coast you will be rewarded with one of the finest beaches in the region. The Little Africa Beach is like a desert by the sea as miles of golden sands stretch off around the impressive coastline towards Nice. The beach is very popular in the summer months, but luckily its size makes it feel quite intimate even in the height of summer.
Old Port
The old port is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable places to sit back relax and get a feel for this town. It would once have been a busy working port, filled with fishing boats going out to sea early in the mornings and returning later in the day. Today, the harbour is more filled with pleasure craft and is a place where the rich and famous like to dock their large yachts and powerboats before jetting off to Nice.
Place Charles de Gaulle
This is to all intents and purposes the centre of the community, a fine looking public square that has for many years been a place where local people and visitors gather to meet and trade. The square is flanked by some impress examples of local architecture and has a series of restaurants, cafes and bars in and around it which serve as the perfect place to take a rest and enjoy watching the world go by.
Town Beach
Golden sand will greet you when you wander down to the main beach in this tourist town that is packed with things to do and see. A truly beautiful view of the port and the surrounding coastline is spread out before you as you laze in the summer sun. The back of the beach has some small cafes and bars available for refreshments and the beach is well maintained by the local authority to keep it looking at its best.
