The proximity to Cannes has made the town of Beaulieu one of the main targets for American movie stars, who come every year to the world famous film festival. One of its restaurants, The African Queen, boasts itself by being one of the few which received such names as Jack Nicholson and Diana Ross during the Cannes Film Festival.

Info: Named after the Hollywood classic, this hip and popular restaurant is filled with posters of Hepburn and Bogart and has a jungle-inspired decor. The restaurant has welcomed stars like Jack Nicholson, Raymond Burr, Robert Wagner, and Diana Ross during the Cannes Film Festival.

Les Agaves
Info: One of the most stylish restaurants in Beaulieu is in an early-1900s villa across the street from the railway station. U.S. based publications such as Bon Appetit have praised the cuisine. One of the best dishes here is filet of sea bass with truffles and champagne sauce.

Info: This place is endlessly popular, and endlessly busy, thanks to relatively low prices and succulent food. You’ll dine within any of three separate dining rooms or on a terrace overlooking the sea. A sought-after menu item is pizza, which comes in at least a dozen varieties and is baked to bubbling perfection in a wood-burning beehive oven.

La Pignatelle
Info: Even in this expensive town, you can find an excellent, affordable Provençal bistro. Despite its relatively low prices, La Pignatelle prides itself on the fresh ingredients in its robust cuisine. Specialties include mushroom-stuffed ravioli with truffled cream sauce, monkfish steak garnished with olive oil and herbs and petite friture du pays, which incorporates small fish with old Provençal traditions.

La Coupole
Info: Found inside the casino, this deluxe restaurant overlooks the Mediterranean. The upscale brasserie de luxe serves seasonal gourmet cuisine that might include snails in garlic butter, roast breast of duckling with citrus sauce or with figs, and a wide array of grilled fresh fish. It’s open Wednesday to Sunday from noon to 2pm and 7pm to midnight.
